The Friends of the Library, established in 1997, is a charitable organization
- to publicize and promote improved library services
- to support adequate space, materials, and equipment to ensure that the library meets research, informational, cultural, and recreational needs
- to aid in providing funds to meets special library needs to the benefit of the general public
To date the Friends have provided to the library
- a large screen television
- a dolly for the baby grand piano
- $4,000 to support public Internet access
- $2,500 for the purchase of books and videocassettes

a significant donation to the new library capital campaign

$5,000 for the library foyer beautification project
All funds have been raised through membership, fundraising and from revenues from the USED BOOK SHOP.
Membership
Anyone who is interested in supporting the Belleville Public Library can become a member. Membership costs very little and demonstrates your support of quality public library service in Belleville. Your membership fee is a donation, for which you will receive an official receipt for amounts greater than $20.00.
- Individual Member: $10
- Lifetime Individual Member: $150 (Tax receipt provided)
Volunteer
We need volunteers to help in the Used Book And Gift Shop and to take an active role in the executive.
Book Donations
The Friends of the Library Used Book Shop relies on the generosity of the community. You can help us with fundraising by donating gently-used books, CD’s, VHS tapes and DVD’s, however we cannot accept encyclopedias, text books or Reader’s Digest Condensed Books. Thank you for your support.
